There's some disagreement between different commentators about whether an inhuman mask is automatically a monster, or if it only applies to those with criminal intent. For the sake of this wiki, only [[black mask]] monsters should be placed in this category. So, for example, [[Aqua Babe]] would not be included, despite being made out of water.

Some monsters can appear human; the defining characteristic is that when they take on the mask, they become giant, grotesque, animal, or made out of metal or stone.
