A [[mask]], famous for a string of high profile thefts. Notable as the only intruder ever to get into the vaults of the [[City Central Deposit Bank]]. Possibly better known for "his" postcards taunting the authorities, which were usually left in the lockers or personal belongings of guards. These cards were signed "Dark Shroud", "The thief who walks through walls", "The thief of time", or a combination of those appelations.

Dark Shroud wears an all-black costume, a mixture of lightweight thin cotton and PVC. However, the costume is rarely seen as Shroud's power is invisibility. The surface of the costume is covered in silver lines which make the PVC parts look kind of like a printed circuit board. The costume has studs on the wrists and neck, a gleaming black plastic mask in the shape of the theatrical tragedy mask, and black leather driving gloves.

<spoiler>Dark Shroud was an alter-ego of [[Commander Silence]]; the badged identity of [[Sergeant Karolyn Stroud]]. While acting as a [[badge]] for [[hope Three]], she also used her powers unofficially to amass a small fortune with the aim of staging a military coup within the division.</spoiler>
