Dialysis

A process created following the Hope Tower Incident, used to restore normalcy to people with fragments of Atlantean crystal in their bodies. The first process was an actual dialysis, to remove microscopic crystal fragments from a person's bloodstream. In the case of some supernormals, this was sufficient to remove any powers. Later processes were developed to remove microscopic crystals from a person's lymphatic system, epidermis, and meninges. Some supernormals had powers granted by larger crystals in the body, which could be removed by surgery (as in the case of Mandala), but the general public came to use Dialysis as a generic term for the removal of supernormal abilities.

The SARI Act made testing and dialysis mandatory for most of Hope City's population. It was nearly two years later that an analogous process, Counteractive Diffraction Exposure, was created for those who had powers caused by exposure to Savant Radiation.
