A piece of legislation pushed for by Hope City's newspapers, soon after the city's founding. It requires newspapers to print only what they can prove is true, and to clearly mark speculation or opinion pieces. The newspaper owners believed this law would allow them to compete with the online news sources, where every citizen with a blog could be a reporter. It divided the city's news ecosystem into two halves; online news is good if you want to know what's happening right now, from the man in the street. And the newspapers are for those who want their stories to be rigorously checked, so you know it's entirely accurate.
