One of Hope City's first masks, appearing at the same time as Antique Angel. It is common knowledge (though not reported by the newspapers) that it was Giganaut's death that ended the true first wave of supernormals.

His unmasked name was Peter Nordic, but Mayor Clarke had that name purged from all official records in order to ensure nobody sought revenge against his family.

The two of them worked together, champions of law and order fighting against criminals. Antique Angel used ancient magic, passed down for thousands of years since the age of Atlantis; while Giganaut had a powered armour suit that could interface directly with his brain. He referred to this armour as the Station Suit, and his genius was finally recognised after his death; when none of the greatest scientists of Hope City could replicate the design, even with the wreckage of the suit to work from.

He was killed by the first criminal mask, though at the time nobody understood how anyone could have beaten the armoured champion of righteousness. When it was revealed that the killer used a weapon stolen from Antique Angel's legacy while it was being shipped from Atlantis, she was overcome by grief and retired; passing the baton to her successor, Antique Gale

In fact…

Nordic and Clarke worked together to create their masks, based on the same technology even though one preferred the appearance of ancient magic. However, it soon became clear that Clarke was losing her mind, seeking to expose the whole city to radiation from her crystals so everyone would have supernormal powers. Nordic realised this was crazy, and the amount of damage it could cause, but couldn't dissuade her. Then she started grooming Nordic's lover – Giselle Abrams – to become the next mask. He told her the truth, and she forgot he existed. It turned out that the Atlantean relics had hidden features, granting Antique Angel the ability to modify the memories of her successors. Nordic would have tried to convince his superior that she had done the wrong thing, but she got there first and shot Giganaut in the back during an attempted bank robbery.

She retired, and named Giselle as her successor. Giselle met a partner who her mentor deemed acceptable and married him, without ever remembering Nordic. But he didn't actually die, he escaped, and forged himself a new identity as Doctor Abrams. He also built himself new armour,

and managed to destroy the reactor that had created the first Atlantean crystals. But in doing so, he created the public belief in heroes and villains, kickstarting the arms race that had been Mayor Clarke's objective all along.
