Adam Alpha

A character in the story Afterwards. The son of John Alpha and Martha Beta, Adam was supposed to be the first of a new generation of survivors. He spent most of his childhood in an underground bunker and fallout shelter, subjected to vast levels of Savant radiation as their water purification system managed to concentrate, rather than removing, microscopic claustronium traces kicked up by his father's excavation.

Powers

Adam's physical strength grew in direct proportion to his emotional anxiety. After leaving the bunker where he had spent his whole life, he found that he got stronger around large groups of people because they made him feel uncomfortable. This made him one of the most powerful masks of the Next Wave, until scientists finally managed to refine the 7th generation dialysis process to work on him.

Although all the news media treated him as some kind of super soldier, he always felt a little overshadowed by his sister Unity.
